Road and Track List 11 Beaches to Drive Your ATV on

One of the things that I imagine doing with the Yamaha YXZ is kicking up a dust strom behind me as I drive down a sandy beach. Never really knew where these beaches that you can drive on actually exist though. Then I stumbled upon this Road and Track article that lists 11 such beaches (and its perfectly legal too). Check it out.

Sadly, they are all in the US, so I won't be finding any of these in my home and native land, Canada.

Long Beach Peninsula, WA

Surfside Beach, Nantucket, MA

Ocean Dunes, CA

Malaquite Beach, TX

Silver Lake State Park, MI

Tierra del Mar, OR

Cape Hatteras, NC

Crescent Beach, Block Island, RI

New Smyrna Beach, FL

Island Beach State Park, NJ

East Beach, RI

Canada is lacking in beaches for UTVs but there are quite a few off road trails for ATVs that UTVs can also travel on. It's mostly dependent on where you live and how far you're willing to tow the Yamaha yxz.

Living in Ontario, Michigan is fairly close too. I could tow it down there to Silver Lake State Park if I really wanted to.

Any of you guys gone driving around on a sandy beach before?

Nope. Any beaches near me are filled with people just laying about and the chance of running over one of them is too high. All we have are forests.

Would be nice to ride along the shore but that's a week long trip just to get there.

Yea, I never see empty beaches unless its the off season. And I think that's OK. Probably better to use that area for people to laze on than have a few people drive around on.
