Yamaha YXZ 1000r Review By ATVIllustrated

Here's a video review of the Yamaha YXZ 1000r by ATVIllustrated.com's John Arens.

It's in depth and he goes into detail about the YXZ and most of it is good. Only complaint he had was a mild one where you feel a bit of the radiator's heat on a hot day.

I like that he points out the rubber coating on the steering wheel which will help a lot, even more if you're going to wear gloves, not something i've seen mentioned on the other reviews.

The radiator heat thing could be a big deal since a lot of these will be living in the south. I'm thinking Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc...

Being a Canadian though, I am none too worried about that. The extra heat might be nice sometimes.

Shouldn't be too much of a worry. It's mostly built for hot sandy climates, that's probably why it has 2 air filters.

Yup, with it taking in all that extra sand it has to keep it out of the engine some way. At least Yamaha went to the lengths to ensure we have a good setup for the environments it will be in.

Usually the biggest danger with the radiator getting hot is if it gets debris and dirt stuck to it. That can then set on fire.
