CA street legal YXZ
I have been able to get California street plates for many late model 2 & 4 stroke dirt bikes, and now I am going to bring my YXZ1000r into DMV for a CA plate. I have an Arizona street legal plate with a California mailing address. I have installed turn signals, windshield, horn, brake lights, mirrors, license light, and I have California vehicle insurance. I am not concerned about boxes 6 and 8 on DMV Reg 31 vehicle verification form. I have taken care of this, but I donít want to publish my techniques concerning emissions stickers on a public forum like this. My local DMV inspector doesnít seem to mind about non-DOT tires or other equipment issues not already listed. However, I am not sure about having a single VIN number. On the motorcycles, both the engine number & VIN was always checked. Does anyone know if more than one VIN number is required, or if the YXZ1000r has an engine number stamped on it? Has anyone been to DMV for an inspection, whether you were successful or not?
