YAMAHA YXZ 1000R Takes A Beating

The YXZ takes a beating trying to make it up this river. Maybe better tires would help?

"A" for effort.

Better tires would have seemingly help to get past that part it was slipping. But chances are with the right momentum and turning into the right spots, getting through could have been possible.

Seems like traction is the issue so I'm thinking that the tires would be the thing to take a look at. Still looks like tons of fun though.

You can see the tires just spinning and spinning. It looks so close.

if he kept in at at like 10 seconds he would of made it up. Makes me wonder if it came up against fuel cutoff and that killed his power...

also looks like if he stayed near that rock wall on the left of the video he could of found some grip on the loose stuff there instead of the slick rock. (nevermind those were leaves LOL)

These things also make their power at the top of the rev range. Meaning you're always going to find wheelspin in this scenario. You need low end grunt to crawl/climb your way up.

Poor guy broke a front axle... home with tail between legs...

He was so close when the YXZ had it's front wheels locked onto that ledge.
Broke the front axle and I think something came off when he tipped over. Interesting to watch!
Apparently this happened on the Boat Ramp at Choccolocco mtn. Now I can't stop watching more side by sides try this ramp.

Would softer suspension and less tire pressure help along with a new set of tires?

I also assume its possible because it was a race, so I'm sure other YXZs made it up that particular hill before he got there.

Technically that should help in absorbing the impact of the fall, so it should in theory.

Same course, same guy? I want to see the follow up then. Partly to see if he can do it, and also to hear what he does to the YXZ in order to do better next time.
