5 Point Harness Install

Pro Armor A115235 Black Hardware Special Edition 5-Point Harness with 3" Pads

So, I have this installed, and it wasn't easy. I didn't have to fabricate a new cross-member, or do anything out of the ordinary, but it cost me a bit of money.

The major components:

2 @ Pro Armor A115235 $119, each
1 @ Harness Hardware Kit for Yamaha YXZ (14-5100) $29.99
1 @ Harness Anchor Kit for YXZ 1000R (14-5101) $139.99

Comes to $407.98, to make this happen. The Pro Armor Harnesses came from Amazon, and the others from UTV Headquarters.com. Time to figure out the passenger side: 6 hours. Time to complete the driver's side: 1 hour.

With a nice selection of tools, you should be able to do this in a day.

Weird tools you are going to need:

H8
T27

First thing to do is pick a side to start. Doesn't matter. Pull the bottom seat cushion, and remove the four, 12mm socket bolts securing the seat frame. Take a flat screwdriver, and remove the trim fasteners. Remove the 10 mm bolts that are present in the seat pan. The goal is to remove the under panel, of the seat bottom. This under panel will get trimmed with a knife, to accommodate the new web belts.

You don't have to do major disassembly of the body, but you do need to remove the seat pans under the seats(for trimming), and the lower trim panels under the doors, that are attached to the body. Removing this bolt will gain you access (by bending plastic) and allow you to slip a wrench in and remove the seat belts. You are going to need an H8 socket for this, and for the upper belt attachment.

The instructions are pretty good, and come with a template, for boring those 9/16" holes, for the mounts.

This is how the kit attaches behind the seat. And what it looks like, attached to the cross-member.

Other photos. The two wires are joined, when removing the driver's factory seat belt, to extinguish the seat-belt light. Initial attachment to roll cage is shown, while connecting lower points.

Took me a while to get the belts where I liked them; in other words, I had to install, pull the seat, adjust, reinstall, pull the seat, adjust, etc. Took about an hour to get these dialed in. Post your questions, and I will answer them. This 5 point harness protection is a serious upgrade from those auto-inspired seat belts; definitely worth the investment, but you have to get the additional parts, to make it functional.

Is the Harness Anchor Kit required to install these or can you do it without them?
also how comfortable are those pro armors?
